Job Description

We are looking for a Bilingual Public Health Worker 3 with a focus on Clinical Preventive Services to join our team at Marion County Health and Human Services. This role involves providing culturally responsive programs to clients, emphasizing a friendly and non-judgmental atmosphere. As part of the Public Health Division, you will investigate tuberculosis cases and work with nursing staff to deliver clinical services, all in an effort to support the Marion County community.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct outreach and direct contact with health provider offices.
  • Assist with case management functions in collaboration with health professionals.
  • Provide health education and information on health-related issues.
  • Act as an interpreter for monolingual Marshallese/Chuukese-speaking clients.
  • Participate in TB control programs, including Directly Observed Therapy.
  • Conduct TB testing, phlebotomy, and treatment under supervision.
  • Assist with STD investigation and partner services as needed.
  • Support syphilis staging appointments and HIV outreach events.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in related field preferred.
  • Experience in community health, medical, mental health, or related fields.
  • Fluent bilingual skills in Marshallese/Chuukese and English.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving history.
  • Ability to pass a standardized language fluency assessment.
  • Must pass criminal background and drug screening.

Physical Requirements

Ability to operate a motor vehicle, lift up to 20 lbs, and work in various environments.
