Railcar Repair Technician

Job Description

First Response Rail Service, Inc., a leader in rail asset management, transloading logistics, and operational support, is seeking a Railcar Repair Technician to join their team in Boyertown, Pennsylvania. As a Railcar Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and performing maintenance work on railcars, including heavy repairs involving welding and fabrication. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, mechanically inclined, and willing to travel as needed.

Job Overview

• Inspecting railcars daily.
• Performing necessary repairs on railcars.
• Executing program work based on provided scope of work.
• Conducting heavy repairs, including welding and fabrication.
• Replacing railcar parts in the field on a work track.

Requirements

• Willingness to travel as required.
• Mechanically inclined with experience in oxygen/acetylene torch, MIG, and stick welding.
• Good spatial awareness and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage time effectively and work independently or in small groups.
• Reliable with the physical capability to lift heavy items and walk significant distances.
• Continuous learning mindset.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary is negotiable based on skills and experience. Per diem provided for travel. Work schedule primarily Monday to Friday with occasional weekend and holiday work required.
