Acme Operator

Job Description

WesternScott Fetzer is currently seeking an Acme Operator to join our team. As an Acme Operator, you will be responsible for operating multiple spindle lathe type screw machines equipped with automatic indexing and feeding mechanisms to machine metal bar stock.

Responsibilities

• Effectively use shop packages including manufacturing orders, bills of materials, routings, part prints, job layouts, and quality alerts.
• Ensure calibration of gages and tools in use.
• Set up and operate multiple machines simultaneously based on routing requirements.
• Sort and rework non-conforming parts as necessary.
• Produce products meeting established quality standards and report non-conformance to supervisors.
• Participate in scheduled SQCD Board meetings.
• Perform quality checks and document according to procedures.
• Request raw materials promptly for production needs and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance as instructed.
• Complete other assigned duties.

Qualifications

• Safely and properly operate and set up various production machines.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to perform simple math calculations.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, and blueprints.
• Write simple correspondence and complete required quality forms.
• Use measuring devices like micrometers, calipers, and go/no-go gages accurately.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
