Construction Estimator

Job Description

We are looking for a Construction Estimator to join University Mechanical Contractors, Inc (UMC) in Everett, WA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for bidding and budgeting various construction projects, including industrial piping, equipment, structural, civil works, HVAC/air systems, and complex mechanical systems. Your role will involve coordinating activities from plan receipt to bid or proposal submission.

Responsibilities

• File drawings and plans accordingly using the IG Tick Sheets.
• Take off scopes of work for labor, materials, and equipment.
• Participate in bid activities, including obtaining specialty quotes and subcontractor pricing.
• Prepare estimates for various project stages and document all necessary information.
• Collaborate with the team to develop project schedules and budgets.

Requirements

• Technical knowledge of mechanical systems and construction methods.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work effectively in a team.
• Experience in reading construction drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of estimating systems and construction accounting.

Education and Experience

• College degree or equivalent field experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience in Industrial/Mechanical projects.
• Advanced computer skills.
