Job Description
At Hood Container Corporation, we are seeking a dedicated General Manager to oversee our Houston, Texas Corrugator Plant. In this key role, you will provide leadership to a team of 180+ employees, drive operational excellence, and collaborate with senior leadership to achieve organizational objectives. Reporting to the Vice President of the Industrial Packaging Business, you will play a vital part in shaping the future of our integrated business and the industry.
Responsibilities
- Model and promote company Guiding Principles & Leadership Characteristics.
- Lead all aspects of plant operation including safety, quality, manufacturing, finance, and more.
- Manage plant budget to exceed volume and profitability targets.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives aligned with organizational strategy.
- Develop local leadership and enhance plant efficiency.
- Prioritize safety and enhance safety protocols in collaboration with the safety department.
- Collaborate with business unit leaders to drive improvements and innovation.
- Oversee capital projects and cultivate customer relationships.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of industry experience, preferably in agriculture or wax products.
- Strong financial and capital management expertise.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic environment.
