Material Handler

Job Description

Slumberland Furniture is currently hiring Full-Time Material Handlers with experience in forklift operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently storing, moving, and distributing merchandise within our warehouse facility. The position offers competitive pay starting at $17 per hour.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position:

This role involves handling merchandise movements, maintaining inventory accuracy, providing training to other team members, and ensuring a safe working environment. The Material Handler will be responsible for managing merchandise flow to and from the show floor, handling customer orders, and utilizing the point of sale (POS) system effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Efficiently move and rearrange merchandise to optimize storage space.
• Prepare merchandise for storage, delivery, or shipment.
• Accurately receive, inspect, and manage incoming inventory.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Provide training and support to fellow employees.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED (or in progress).
• Basic math skills and understanding of tools and hardware components.
• Valid driver's license and basic computer knowledge.
• Experience with POS systems is a plus.
