Merchandise Handler - No Weekends

Job Description

Slumberland Furniture is currently hiring Merchandise Handlers with a focus on Warehouse Operations. This full-time position offers a competitive starting salary of $17 per hour, and the work schedule is Monday to Friday, starting at 7:00 am.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position

The Merchandise Handler role involves the movement of products within the warehouse, including storing, distributing, and completing merchandise-related tasks. In addition to operational duties, this position includes providing training to other employees and leading by example.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently move and organize merchandise within the warehouse for optimal space utilization.
• Transfer merchandise to and from the show floor for various purposes like storage, delivery, or customer pick-up.
• Utilize the point of sale (POS) system for tracking and managing merchandise flow.
• Ensure order accuracy and maintain precise records on customer orders and system inventory.
• Handle incoming merchandise by unloading, inspecting, and tagging, as well as preparing outgoing merchandise for shipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or working towards a GED.
• Basic math skills and knowledge of tools, hardware components, and product assembly.
• Valid driver's license and basic computer proficiency.
• Prior experience with POS systems is advantageous.
