Job Description
We are currently hiring for the position of Merchandise Handler at Slumberland Furniture. This full-time role involves efficiently managing merchandise movement within our warehouse facility. As a Merchandise Handler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth storage, distribution, and movement of products while upholding the highest standards of quality and customer service.
Primary Objective & Scope of Position
The primary goal of this role is to handle merchandise operations, including storage, movement, and distribution. As a Merchandise Handler, you will lead by example and provide training to fellow employees to ensure operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently move and organize merchandise within the warehouse for optimal space utilization.
- Transfer products to and from the show floor, ensuring proper display, storage, or shipment.
- Utilize the point of sale (POS) system to manage merchandise flow efficiently.
- Ensure accuracy in customer orders and maintain precise system records.
- Handle incoming merchandise by unloading, identifying, and receiving shipments.
- Inspect, assemble, and prepare outgoing merchandise to guarantee impeccable delivery.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (or actively working towards completion).
- Basic math skills and knowledge of tools, hardware components, and product assembly.
- Valid driver's license and basic computer proficiency.
- Experience with POS systems is a plus.
