Merchandise Handler - Overtime Available

Job Description

We are looking for dedicated Merchandise Handlers to join our team at Slumberland Furniture. This full-time position involves warehouse operations, including merchandise movement and ensuring customer satisfaction. You will play a key role in maintaining efficient merchandise flow and providing exceptional service to our customers.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position:

Responsible for storing, moving, and distributing merchandise while leading by example and providing training to team members.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities:

• Efficiently move and organize merchandise within the warehouse.
• Prepare merchandise for display, storage, delivery, or shipment.
• Manage merchandise flow using a point of sale system.
• Ensure accuracy in handling customer orders and maintaining system records.
• Inspect, receive, assemble, and wrap merchandise for shipment.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED (or currently pursuing).
• Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware.
• Valid driver's license and basic computer proficiency.
• Experience with POS systems is a plus.

Other Responsibilities:

• Provide training to colleagues and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Communicate effectively with customers and vendors.
• Adhere to safety policies and maintain a safe working environment.
• Perform grounds and building maintenance tasks when required.
