Principal Application Architect

Job Description

We are looking for a Principal Application Architect to join Discover Financial Services, a leading digital banking and payments company. In this role, you will lead the charge in driving technology strategy and capabilities for an application ecosystem, designing application architecture that meets business and customer needs while ensuring technical requirements for resiliency, security, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sr. Product Owner(s) to develop product vision and align with technology strategy.
• Lead the design process for applications and coach other architects on quality strategies.
• Demonstrate understanding of business processes and technical building blocks.
• Train others in solution design patterns and engage with modern technologies.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Software Development, Engineering, or Technical Architecture.
• Technical proficiency rating of proficient on the Dreyfus architecture scale (internal applicants).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and Openshift is a plus.

Compensation

Base pay ranges between $148,000.00 to $204,000.00 with additional incentives. Factors like location, experience, education, and skills may impact compensation.
