Principal Cybersecurity Engineer ( Cloud Security )

Job Description

We are looking for a talented Principal Cybersecurity Engineer specializing in Cloud Security to join Discover Financial Services. In this role, you will lead the development of secure systems, cyber applications, and technical projects while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. Your expertise will drive the optimization of cybersecurity solutions and processes in a high-speed environment, contributing to the enhancement of our control environment.

Responsibilities

• Advise upper management on cybersecurity matters and oversee security improvement designs.
• Operate and analyze cloud security products to identify potential threats.
• Explore latest technology trends to maintain a competitive edge in cybersecurity.
• Define team's strategic direction, provide leadership, and ensure compliance with cybersecurity requirements.
• Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and oversee successful project delivery.
• Research and integrate new cybersecurity solutions, applying security architecture principles.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in Information Technology, Engineering, or related areas.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in scripting, coding, and automation (e.g., Python, shell scripting).
• Knowledge of Cloud architecture and securing cloud communications (AWS, GCP).
• Experience with Restful Services, AWS services, and OpenShift container platform.
• Understanding of access control systems, PKI, multi-factor authentication, and entitlements management.
