Job Description
Steven Douglas Corp (SDC) is seeking a Senior Automation Control Engineer to join our team of experts in designing and building custom automated machines for diverse applications and industries. As an essential member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and programming complete solutions for automated equipment based on customer and internal specifications. We are looking for detail-oriented individuals with extensive experience in PLC, HMI, robotics, and vision programming, as well as machine design.
Essential Functions
- Design and develop advanced software and machine control programs, including electrical and control system design, PLC programming, HMI design/programming, robotic programming, troubleshooting of electrical systems, and industrial machine vision systems.
- Evaluate and specify hardware and software components for various tasks, troubleshoot machine programming challenges, manage projects to ensure on-time and on-budget deliveries, and support machine building processes from assembly to customer installations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field.
- 5+ years of senior-level engineering experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs, servo control, electrical design, and industrial machine vision systems.
- Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, LabView, MatLab, microcontrollers, or robotic programming is a plus.
- Strong decision-making and communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate with project teams and willingness to travel up to 10%.
Compensation
Salary Range: $90,000 - $115,000 per year.
