Sr Merchandise Handler

Job Description

We are looking to hire a dedicated Senior Merchandise Handler to join our team at Slumberland Furniture. As a Sr Merchandise Handler, you will be responsible for the efficient movement and handling of merchandise within our warehouse, ensuring timely and accurate distribution of products.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position:

This position involves storing, moving, and distributing merchandise, as well as providing training to other employees. The Senior Merchandise Handler plays a crucial role in maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring customer orders are fulfilled correctly.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities:

• Efficiently move and organize merchandise within storage locations to optimize space usage.
• Handle the movement of merchandise to and from the show floor, packaging items for storage, delivery, or shipment.
• Utilize the point of sale (POS) system to manage merchandise flow and maintain inventory records.
• Ensure accuracy in processing incoming and outgoing merchandise, including inspection, tagging, and assembly.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED (in progress acceptable).
• Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware components.
• Valid driver's license and basic computer proficiency.
• Experience with POS systems is advantageous.
