Job Description: Sr Merchandise Handler

Slumberland Furniture is seeking a dedicated Senior Merchandise Handler to join our team. As a vital member of our warehouse operations, you will be responsible for efficiently managing merchandise movement, providing training to colleagues, delivering exceptional customer service, and ensuring a safe working environment.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position:

This role involves storing, moving, and distributing merchandise, as well as leading by example and offering guidance to other team members.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities:

Merchandise Movement:

• Optimize merchandise location efficiency.
• Prepare merchandise for various purposes such as display, storage, or delivery.
• Utilize POS system for inventory management.
• Maintain accuracy in customer orders and system records.
• Handle incoming and outgoing merchandise with care and precision.

Training:

Lead by example and support the training of fellow employees.

Customer Service:

Ensure professional communication with customers, colleagues, and vendors while maintaining inventory accuracy.

Other Responsibilities:

Adhere to safety protocols, practice Lean principles, and assist in building maintenance tasks.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED (or in progress).
• Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware assembly.
• Valid driver's license and basic computer proficiency.
• Desirable: POS system experience.
