Job Description

We are looking for a Substitute Instructor to join our team at the Roswell Job Corps Center. As an instructor, you will present instructions in designated subject areas within a classroom setting. Your role is crucial in promoting a positive and motivating atmosphere for maximum student engagement and learning.

Responsibilities

• Promote a positive classroom environment to enhance student motivation.
• Maintain discipline for effective learning outcomes.
• Build strong rapport with students.
• Utilize available curriculum resources effectively.
• Maintain student personnel folders.
• Ensure compliance with attendance and accountability processes.
• Participate in required training sessions.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Minimum: State certification, license, or accreditation by a professional trade organization. Teaching experience not mandatory but practical subject/trade experience required.
• Preferred: Extensive practical trade knowledge and teaching experience.
• Knowledge: Understanding of behavior instillation methods, housekeeping techniques, and effective communication skills in English.

Physical Requirements

Frequently: Standing, sitting, seeing, hearing, speaking.

Occasionally: Walking, bending, stooping, squatting, flexibility.

Seldom: Climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), carrying, kneeling, pushing/pulling, running, driving.

Environmental Demands

Ability to operate office equipment; occasional solo work; 85% time spent collaborating; college-level reading and writing proficiency.
