Bulger Veterinary Hospital is looking to hire a Full-time Veterinary Technician to join its expanding surgical team in Lawrence, Massachusetts. In this role, you will work alongside anesthesiologists and board-certified surgeons specializing in soft tissue, orthopedic, and minimally invasive procedures. As part of our busy and reputable practice, you will contribute to enhancing the bond between humans and animals.
Responsibilities
- Perform anesthetic monitoring, including intubation/extubation, patient monitoring, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Prepare and handle various blood samples for diagnostic testing.
- Take and process radiographs throughout pre and post-operative processes.
- Assist doctors during surgical procedures, including abdominal explores, cruciate repairs, and laparoscopic surgeries.
- Monitor patient vitals in awake, sedated, and anesthetized states.
- Potential to pursue VTS in anesthesia or surgical specialties.
Schedule: Full-time (36-40 hours) with up to 3 holidays; weekends not required.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited AVMA program or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum of two years experience in Veterinary Anesthesia.
- Proficient in administering anesthetic agents, fluids, and CRI's.
- Strong record-keeping skills for medical procedures.
- Experience with anesthetic monitoring.
- CVT, LVT, or VTS certification preferred.
