Warehouse Associate

Job Description

Slumberland Furniture is currently seeking Warehouse Associates to join our team. As a Warehouse Associate, you will be responsible for efficiently moving, storing, and distributing merchandise while ensuring the accuracy of orders. This is a full-time position with competitive pay starting at $17 per hour.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position

This role involves merchandise movement, training other employees, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring safety practices are adhered to.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities

• Efficiently move and organize merchandise within locations.
• Manage merchandise flow to and from the show floor using a point of sale system.
• Ensure accuracy in customer orders and system records.
• Unload, inspect, tag, and receive incoming merchandise; assemble, inspect, and prepare outgoing items.
• Provide training to colleagues and lead by example.
• Communicate professionally with customers and colleagues to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Adhere to safety policies and practices to maintain a safe work environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or currently working towards).
• Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware components.
• Valid driver's license.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Experience with point of sale systems is desirable.
