Job Description

Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA) is seeking an experienced Aviation Benefits Attorney to join our team in Tysons (McLean), Virginia. In this role, you will represent ALPA’s interests in a broad range of employee benefits matters, providing legal advice with respect to pilot employee benefit plans, including qualified defined benefit plans, nonqualified deferred compensation plans, and other employee fringe benefit plans. The position may require local, national, and international travel, at times on short notice: up to 30%.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice on pilot employee benefit plans.
  • Represent ALPA’s interests in employee benefits matters.
  • May require up to 30% local, national, and international travel.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an approved law school.
  • Member in good standing of the Bar.
  • Five (5) years of related experience.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to use independent judgment to solve problems under time pressure.
  • Experience in online legal research preferable.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Able to meet physical demands inherent in the job, with up to 30% travel required.
