Job Description

The Bookkeeper at Sirmax North America Inc is responsible for handling the fundamental aspects of record keeping, including financial transactions, accounts payable and receivable, and maintaining internal control systems. They also ensure that expenditures are in accordance with company protocol and assist with internal and external financial audits.

Responsibilities

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
  • Enter data, maintain records, and generate reports and financial statements (e.g., trial balance, income statement, balance sheet).
  • Process accounts receivable/payable in a timely manner, which may include setting up vendors and verifying source documents such as invoices, receipts, and computer printouts.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports, including the profit and loss statement and balance sheet.
  • Make bank deposits and receive money.
  • Perform general ledger and account reconciliations.
  • Perform month-end activities, including monthly journal entries.
  • Reconcile company credit card reports and expense reports.
  • Assist with budget preparations and maintain an orderly accounting filing system.
  • Coordinate with outside CPA & Auditor as needed, reconcile and balance all accounts, and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.
  • Transfer data to the general ledger and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP.
  • Strong organizational and excellent communication skills.
  • College or Technical Degree (or equivalent gained from 5+ years of experience), and a high school diploma.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and 90% computer usage.
