Executive Sous Chef

Job Description

Saz's Hospitality Group is seeking an Executive Sous Chef to oversee our state-of-the-art kitchen in Walker's Point. We provide The Finest in food, service, and genuine hospitality to everyone we serve, everywhere we go, in every way we can. No two days will be the same, but the responsibilities include collaborating with the Corporate Chef, Executive Chef, and catering managers to develop menu items, manage inventory, place daily orders, manage prep lists and team task assignments, and work hand-in-hand with the culinary team when needed.

Responsibilities

• Use sales forecasts, par levels, and product inventory to generate daily prep lists.
• Collaborate with Corporate Chef and Executive Chef to develop and enforce kitchen setup procedures and expectations.
• Facilitate receipt, storage, and stock rotation of all product orders.
• Ensure all health department regulations and HACCP procedures are followed.
• Cross-train all team members to ensure adequate staffing levels and foster teamwork.
• Work with culinary teams at other SHG properties to develop consistent ordering, recipe, sanitation, and training procedures.
• Proactively address performance or disciplinary issues with BOH team.
• Complete projects as assigned; meet deadlines as established.
• Foster an environment of cooperation and teamwork between culinary, service, and warehouse teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years culinary experience and at least 3 years' experience in a Sous Chef role.
• Culinary education is preferred but isn't required.
• Squat, kneel, climb ladders or step stools as needed.
• Use industrial cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to read and write English; ability to read and write Spanish beneficial but not required.
• Valid driver's license with insurable history.
• Consistent attendance with a varied schedule including morning, evening, closing.
