Job Description

Servers in our Assisted Living/Healthcare Culinary Department at Bishop Gadsden provide residents and their guests with positive dining experiences in the Assisted Living/ Healthcare settings. The successful candidates will have compassion for and the desire to work with the elderly. We currently offer Full-time and Part-time opportunities in this role starting at $15.97 / hr.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure appropriate menus and place settings are on tables.
  • Prepare wait station and complete opening side work as assigned.
  • Stock and assemble appropriate condiments, dry goods, and other items needed for meal service.
  • Organize and assemble accurate meal room service trays.
  • Understand and adhere to special dietary needs of residents.
  • Serve food and beverages to residents in a professional manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness of dining room and server areas at all times in accordance with DHEC guidelines.
  • Complete closing side work as assigned.

Qualifications

  • At least seventeen (17) years of age.
  • Professional appearance and excellent interpersonal skills for daily interaction with residents, families, coworkers, and the public.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Ability to multi-task and deal with multiple customers at the same time.
  • Ability to learn and use a computerized POS (point of sale) system.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, and crawl and to lift and/or carry weights of up to 50 pounds.
