Job Description

Suburban Pediatrics is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join their team. This position involves providing high-quality care to pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients in an office setting. LPNs will play a key role in helping patients pursue a healthy future by delivering clinical care and support. Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate the primary goal of customer satisfaction through positive interactions with patients, parents, providers, colleagues, and other members of the patient care team in a respectful, courteous, confidential, and caring manner.
  • Provide and assist with direct patient care including exam/procedure prep, screenings, initial assessments, patient exams, and clinical procedures.
  • Efficiently carry out administration and documentation of medications, immunizations, and obtaining specimens as ordered by the providers.
  • Assist providers with clinical procedures and conduct catheterizations.
  • Administer nebulizer treatment, obtain respiratory rate, pulse ox, pulmonary functions, and peak flow meter, when applicable.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to emergency situations.
  • Assist with stocking supplies, cleaning/preparing rooms, and equipment.
  • Schedule timely and appropriate visits that are sensitive to patient needs as clinically indicated and/or as directed by supervisors of the care team.
  • Gather patient information by telephone, prepare and review patient records to meet specifications for triage messages, documentation, and organization.
  • Communicate with parents/patients regarding follow-up instructions, scheduling of additional testing, or questions arising from the visit as directed by supervisors of the care team.
  • Provide health education information and health teaching to parents/patients as directed by the provider.
  • Accurately communicate necessary information to pharmacies per provider direction, including verbal prescription requests or prior authorizations.
  • Participate in quality assurance/quality improvement programs and activities within the practice setting.
  • Attend and participate in required in-service and mandatory meetings for continuous quality improvement.
  • Support change and new programs to improve patient care and staff morale.
  • Coordinate care with disease management as directed by providers.
  • Follow policy/procedure to perform, record, and report laboratory tests while maintaining universal precautions and infection control precautions.
  • Protect the privacy and security of confidential and sensitive patient information.
  • Assist with training and serve as a resource for other staff.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the nurse manager or as directed by a provider.
