Job Description

OnPoint Medical Group is seeking an outstanding Medical Assistant to join our team at Dakota Ridge. Our physician-led network is committed to expanding access to quality healthcare in an effective and affordable manner.

The Medical Assistant assists the provider in examination and treatment of patients by completing intake, documenting a full and accurate set of vital signs, populating electronic medical records, and maintaining supplies and treatment rooms. The role also involves conducting business in a service-oriented manner, pre-visit planning, and maintaining professional relationships with vendors.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient intake and preparation for healthcare visits
• Document accurate vital signs and populate electronic medical records
• Assist providers during examination and treatment
• Maintain supplies in storage areas and exam rooms
• Conduct business in a service-oriented manner and maintain professional relationships
• Prepare pre-visit planning and maintain all required logs and checks
• Communicate appropriately following HIPAA guidelines
• Attend trainings and meetings as required

• Display empathy and actively listen and respond appropriately
• Accurately maintain medical records for patients and providers

Minimum Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Graduate of an accredited healthcare program (e.g., Medical Assistant, CNA, LPN, EMT) or equivalent work experience
• Maintain certifications per state guidelines
• Nationally recognized as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) strongly preferred
• Strong computer skills required, EMR experience preferred
• Some Medical Assistant experience required
• Current BLS card

Preferred Education/Experience

• 1-3 years of experience in Family or Pediatrics
• Athenahealth practice management system

Salary: $20 - $25 / hour
