Job Description

The University of Toledo Physicians is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide vital support to physicians and healthcare providers, ensuring efficient patient care and a positive clinic experience. From performing clinical procedures to maintaining medical supplies and interacting with patients, you will play a crucial role in our collaborative care model.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical procedures under physician supervision
• Take and record vital signs, prepare patients for exams, and assist with treatments
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all necessary information is available for appointments
• Handle patient inquiries and communicate instructions clearly
• Stock exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and keep supplies organized
• Assist with specialty duties like EKG and pulmonary testing

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• BLS Certification required
• 1+ year of clinical/medical industry experience or Medical Assistant Diploma
• Strong interpersonal, clinical, and computer skills
• Professionalism, discretion, and adherence to HIPPA regulations

Preferred Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assisting Program
• RMA, CMA, or CCMA Certification
• 2+ years of experience
• Previous STNA, EMT, or similar work experience

Working Conditions

• Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
• Primarily inside in clinical settings
• Exposure to medical patients and close care coordination
