Preventative Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

We are looking for a Preventative Maintenance Mechanic to join Portman's team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance repairs on mechanical, lighting, and hardware systems, as well as documenting activities. This role requires collaboration at all levels within the organization and involves assisting with building evacuation and emergency drills. The candidate should have a fundamental knowledge of state and local codes and hold a valid driver's license.

Role Responsibilities

• Maintain major HVAC, plumbing, life safety, and electrical equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on building equipment as scheduled.
• Service water features and pool equipment, handle electrical repairs, oversee plumbing systems, and troubleshoot various equipment issues.
• Monitor and adjust BAS systems, assist with mechanical maintenance issues, and handle emergency preparedness.
• Foster positive working relationships with teammates and customers to ensure excellent customer service.

Requirements, Education, Knowledge, and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Vocational school degree in HVAC or electrical maintenance desired.
• EPA refrigerant transition recovery certification required.
• Six+ years of experience maintaining commercial building equipment.
• BOMA technician certification preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and technical skills.
• Proficiency in using tools and computer applications.
• Ability to work occasional nights, weekends, and holidays.
