Job Description

Red River Commodities is currently seeking an experienced Process Engineer to join our team. The Process Engineer will be responsible for developing and delivering capital projects to address business opportunities in our manufacturing facilities, with primary focus on our wildlife facilities in Fargo, ND and Lubbock, TX. This position will be based out of our corporate office in Fargo, ND and will involve 10% - 20% travel to other locations. The successful candidate will work with facility staff, subject matter experts, vendors, and contractors to manage assigned capital projects through their entire life cycle, from conceptual engineering to employee training.

Responsibilities

  • Apply project management skills to capital projects.
  • Lead project scope development and manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Provide engineering technical assistance and support manufacturing, safety, and quality.
  • Develop bid packages, manage construction and equipment bidding process, and track project expenditures.
  • Adhere to engineering policies and standards used within the company, and perform other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, agricultural engineering, or combination of a technical degree with relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience working as a process engineer or in a related role.
  • Experience with grain storage, handling, cleaning, and blending systems preferred.
  • Project management experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and team-building skills.
  • Ability to work safely at job sites in and around large mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards, HAACP, and other food safety standards.
  • Familiar with food grade processing plant design practices and standards.
  • Proactive, results-oriented, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
