Product Development Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Product Development Engineer to join Dometic Marine, a company specializing in mechanical and electro-mechanical solutions for the marine market. As a Product Engineer, you will be responsible for developing cost-effective, robust, and manufacturable solutions while ensuring compliance with government and industry standards.

Main Responsibilities

• Work with design engineering to develop solutions to design problems.
• Design tools, fixtures, and machines for component fabrication and assembly.
• Develop fixtures and tooling with PLC logic for error-proofed production.
• Coordinate vendors and contractors for tool and process development.
• Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis to reduce assembly risks.
• Identify bottlenecks and recommend quality and process improvements.
• Estimate production capacities and validate labor content.
• Develop work instructions and process change plans.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Experience in the marine or vehicle controls markets preferred.

Specialized Skills

• Solid modeling software knowledge (Creo Parametric preferred).
• Functional understanding of manufacturing processes and rapid prototyping.
• Knowledge of electro-mechanical sensors and measurement devices.
• Project management experience and proficiency in office software.
