Job Description

The Charge Registered Nurse is a professional nurse who coordinates the delivery of nursing care. The Charge Registered Nurse participates in patient and family teaching, provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Aligned with Nursing Unit Leadership, the Charge Nurse coordinates the delivery of nursing care and provides leadership by working cooperatively with medical, ancillary, and support staff in maintaining standards of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the delivery of nursing care.

  • Maintain standards of professional nursing practice within the clinical setting.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current state registration or eligibility to do so.
  • CPR certification.
  • ACLS, PALS, TNCC, or equivalent preferred for experienced critical care RNs.
  • RNs with more than 1 year of experience will obtain certification within 6 months of employment, as well as an ENA approved triage course within 1 year of hire. New RN/GN, ACLS, PALS within 12 months of hire. TNCC and ENA approved triage course within 18 months of Hire.
