Surgical Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a Surgical Assistant to join our elite oral surgery practice at Pikes Peak Oral Surgery. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the best clinical outcomes. Experience in oral surgery is a plus, but not required.

Role and Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during procedures, including tissue retraction and intravenous lines.
• Verify patient identity and operative sites.
• Maintain aseptic technique and an unobstructed operative field.
• Prepare and sterilize surgical equipment and instruments.
• Monitor patient intraoperative status and assist with clinical documentation.
• Perform preoperative and postoperative duties to support patient care.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required (or ability to complete within 1 month of hire).
• Related experience preferred.
• DAANCE certification, dental assistant license, and radiology certification are desirable.

Skills and Abilities

• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to work well in a team and independently.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Good judgment, critical thinking skills, and passion for patient safety.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge.
