Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to use the latest cloud computing technologies to help U.S. Government agencies implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems. As a Systems Development Engineer at Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc., you will be part of the Serverless team in Seattle, building and supporting fully managed services, such as Lambda, Simple Workflow, Step Functions, and internal services that power the cloud offerings. You will contribute to creating the massive scale and powerful new programming paradigms that our customers need to be successful.

Responsibilities

• Identify ways to improve the lives of customers through improvements to tools, processes, and documentation.
• Collaborate with a team of talented systems developers and systems engineers to improve the use of tools in both isolated AWS regions and in the AWS GovCloud regions.
• Design and architect new and existing systems, considering design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Programming with modern languages such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby.

Requirements

• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 1+ years of designing or architecting experience.
• 7+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, and operating systems.
• Experience with systems engineering fundamentals such as networking, storage, and operating systems.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above.
• Experience with PowerShell, Python, Ruby, or Java (preferred).
• Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology (preferred).
