Data Center Operations Technician I

Job Description

We are looking for a Data Center Operations Technician I to join Flexential, a market-based position that offers 24x7x365 support to customers needing physical and Level II technical assistance. The role involves troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining data center cleanliness, conducting facilities rounds, and ensuring compliance with company policies and standards. As a Data Center Operations Technician I, you will provide timely resolution of issues, assist in installations, manage security access, and support critical infrastructure as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide timely resolution and escalation of Facility and customer issues.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and document them using the ticketing system.
• Follow Flexential Support and Data Center policies.
• Perform local access and escort for vendors and carriers.
• Execute remote hands work for internal and external customers.
• Maintain Data Center cleanliness and conduct facilities rounds.
• Process shipping/receiving for Customer and Flexential deliveries.
• Operate and Manage Badge Access Security System.
• Assist Critical Infrastructure Manager as needed.

Requirements

• Passion for customer service and satisfaction.
• Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Operating systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to meeting deadlines.
• 1 year of IT Support experience is preferred.
• Network +, Security +, CCNA, or Microsoft MCP/MCSA certifications are a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
• Aptitude to work in cold environments and lift heavy objects.
• Capability to install cabling and handle pallet jacks.
