Job Description

Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Accounting Manager is responsible for general accounting ledger, payroll fixed assets and preparing account reconciliations. This position oversees the Accounts Payable and Payroll position.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Accounts Payable, Payroll and other Business Office functions as needed.
  • Be able to assume tasks daily tasks of the Business Office as needed.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Record daily cash activity.
  • Prepare, balance and enter payroll entries along with various other journal entries.
  • Assist VP of Finance with annual Audit.
  • Prepare month end close entries and Financial Statement preparation, quarter end duties, and year end closing, ensuring transactions are in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.
  • Prepare reports for internal reporting and external reporting.
  • Assist in annual Cost reports and tax return preparation.
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills, organizational skills, attention to detail and decision-making skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills required.
  • Requires prior knowledge and experience in Accounts Payable, Payroll, Fixed Assets, and General Ledger Accounting through financial Statements. Includes creating journal entries, preparing account reconciliations and accruals and strong Balance Sheet and Income Statement analytical skills.
  • Five years of direct Accounting experience.
  • Experience with various automated Accounting systems.

Preferred

  • Proven interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Previous Healthcare experience with Long Term Care exposure.
  • Revenue Cycle exposure preferred.
