Job Summary

The Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) will work collaboratively under the direction of the Staff Nurse in the Post Acute Unit at UVMHN Helen Porter Rehabilitation & Nursing. The role involves delivering basic personal care support and specific aspects of patient care with a focus on responsive communication, respect, and resident support.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • State of Vermont LNA license
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment

About the Post Acute Unit

The Post Acute Unit at Helen Porter Rehabilitation & Nursing is dedicated to providing supportive, goal-directed care to patients post-surgery or hospitalization. Customized treatment programs help patients regain independence and transition home smoothly. Conditions treated include strokes, neurological conditions, orthopedic care, respiratory conditions, cardiac issues, and post-trauma situations.

Therapy services are available Monday through Friday, with additional weekend services when necessary. Nursing staff support therapy by continuing prescribed activities and exercises during therapy staff off-hours.
