Responsibilities
- Promote professionalism and maintain a cooperative working environment.
- Obtain specimens following laboratory guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with care providers regarding patient data.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Follow procedural directions and protocols accurately.
- Assist in maintaining departmental productivity.
- Follow proper specimen packaging and transport protocols.
- Perform specimen accessioning and processing.
- Demonstrate infection control practices and proper patient identification.
- Provide phlebotomy services in a patient-centered manner.
- Engage in self-evaluation and continuous improvement of skills.
- Ensure quality of care and promote service excellence in the laboratory.
- Perform arterial puncture when required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Basic computer skills.
- Completion of accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program or previous phlebotomy experience (preferred).
- Experience in a clinical setting (preferred).
