Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join The University of Vermont Health Network team. As a Pre/Post Anesthesia Care Unit RN, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional care to patients throughout their perioperative experience, from pre-procedure preparation to post-procedure critical evaluation. Additionally, as a Perioperative Services Float RN, you will gain competency in two out of three areas: Operating Room Circulating Nurse, Pre/Post Nurse, or Endoscopy Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and plan care accordingly using the nursing process.
• Coordinate perioperative care for patients undergoing surgical/invasive procedures.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and education throughout the treatment process.
• Acquire competence in designated areas of perioperative services.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN license in New York State.
• Completion of CVPH critical care course or passing grade on the challenge exam within six months.
• Minimum two years of med/surg nursing experience; critical care experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Familiarity with IV therapy, venipuncture, ACLS, and PALS.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities efficiently.
