Job Description

The Florida Department of Financial Services, Office of the General Counsel is seeking dedicated individuals for the positions of Senior Attorney and Attorney. Senior Attorneys work on a sophisticated portfolio with high private-sector relevance, while Attorney positions offer training and experience for those newer to the field. Responsibilities

  • Contracts & Rulemaking: Assist with contract drafting, negotiation, and rule promulgation to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Prosecution & Enforcement: Represent the Division of Insurance Agent & Agency Services, State Fire Marshal, and Funeral, Cemetery, & Consumer Services in disciplinary matters, licensure denial, and rule development.
  • Workers' Compensation: Handle administrative litigation to ensure workers' compensation coverage, medical reimbursement disputes, rule challenges, and various regulatory tasks.
