Job Description
We are looking for a talented Principal Application Engineer (Full-Stack) to join Discover Financial Services. As a key member of the Collections Value Stream, you will collaborate with our business partners to develop and maintain consumer-focused systems. Your role will involve working with our collections platform, utilizing cutting-edge technologies like OpenShift from Kubernetes. Responsibilities
- Create impactful solutions for technological and business priorities.
- Demonstrate proficiency in various domains such as programming languages, security, automation, and testing.
- Participate in strategic technology decisions impacting the organization.
- Proactively identify and address issues based on experience and intuition.
- Provide coaching and support to technology communities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in Information Technology or Software Engineering.
- Proficiency rating of proficient on the Dreyfus engineering scale (internal applicants only).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in front-end web development with JavaScript frameworks like Angular or React.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, and OpenShift.
- Expertise in API service architecture.
- Strong focus on automation in testing and deployment concepts.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Gradle, SonarQube, Jenkins, and more.
- Technologies include Java, Spring, Kafka, and Openshift.

Compensation: Base pay ranges from $104,000.00 to $175,600.00, with additional incentives based on various factors.
